Communication Club

We have started a communication club in St Thomas More's Parish. We meet at 2.00 pm every Monday afternoon in our church hall in Braybon Avenue, Patcham.

The aim of the club is to promote better communication between those of us who are lucky enough to hear well and those who are deaf or hard of hearing. So often the deaf feel isolated and excluded from meetings or services because they cannot follow what is going on. It is a disability that is invisible and therefore can go unnoticed. 

In the club we are learning how to communicate better - by speaking clearly, using a clear lip pattern, with finger-spelling and with signs. We already have members from the parish, the deanery and from Churches Together in Patcham. Anyone who is interested is very welcome to join us.
